Stonewall Jackson predicts early spring

In contrast to Punxsutawney Phil, Sussex County’s spring-predicting groundhog, Stonewall Jackson, emerged Sunday morning and did not see his shadow, signaling an early spring.
Stonewall Jackson lives at Space Farms in Wantage under the care of state Sen. Parker Space, who said the groundhog has a strong track record for accurate predictions.
“No shadow for Stonewall,” Space said. “Looks like an early spring.”
