Halloween haunts Maple Grange Park

Vernon. Maple Grange Park was the place to be on Oct. 30 for all the Vernon Township’s witches and ghouls. Covid didn’t stop children from trick-or-treating safely outdoors at Treats and Trails, organized by the Vernon PAL, the Vernon Township Police, and the Vernon Recreation Department. Treat sessions were held at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. to achieve social distance. Thirteen tables were loaded with clever, creative, and delicious treats along the park’s small loop. Treats were distributed by three of the township’s fire departments -- Vernon, Highland Lakes, and McAfee -- the PAL, Vernon Recreation and Coalition, Vernon Police, Vernon Chamber of Commerce, VTEA, the Vernon Board of Education, and the Vernon and Glenwood-Pochuck EMS.
