Eigner sparks late rally as Newton edges Vernon

Avery Eigner scored a team-high 16 points, leading Newton to edge Vernon,42-39, in a comeback victory, at Vernon Township High School.
Trailing 36-32 entering the fourth quarter, the Braves (9-2) rallied late, outscoring the Vikings, 10-3. Caitlyn Pokrywa added 12 points for the Braves.
Monica Curry scored a game-high 23 points for Vernon (5-7).
